Taxodoum distichum A deciduous conifer with slender pyramidal habit. Needle like leaves are fern like. Fall color is cinnamon red. Trunk has copper-brown bark that peels off in strips. Spectacular in all seasons. Loves wet areas but can adapt to dry areas and city conditions. A very long lived, fast growing tree reaching 50-75 ft tall and 20-30 ft wide.

Fagus grandifolia Native to eastern United States. New leaves emerge from buds as feathery tassels. Foliage is golden bronze color in fall that sometimes hold on all winter. Graceful, spreading form with smooth , thin, light gray wrinkled bark that resembles elephant hide. 50 to 60 ft with equal spread. Seeds are eaten by a number of wildlife species.
